LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal charges have been filed against four alleged MS-13 street gang members who authorities blame for 10 killings during the last year in and around Las Vegas.
Interim U.S. Attorney Dayle Elieson announced Wednesday that the four men, all from El Salvador, face kidnapping, weapon and assault with intent to commit murder charges in one slaying.
Officials say Josue Diaz-Orellana, Luis Reyes-Castillo, David Perez-Manchame and Miguel Torres-Escobar are each in federal custody.
On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said the arrests of the four adults and a 17-year-old who was being held as a juvenile broke up a murderous ring responsible for 10 slayings since March 2017.
A criminal complaint alleges that 21-year-old Arquimides Sandoval-Martinez was kidnapped Jan. 21 from a downtown Las Vegas club before his bullet-riddled body was found Feb. 2 in desert mountains east of the city.
