Attorney And Dixie State Law Professor Chosen For Utah Legislature

An attorney and law professor at Dixie State University in Utah’s Washington County will join the Utah House of Representatives as a replacement for former representative Jon Stanard.

Stanard resigned last week ahead of a report that he’d paid a prostitute for sex while staying in Salt Lake City hotels to attend legislative meetings.

The St. George Spectrum reports in an emergency meeting of GOP delegates from Utah’s House District 62, which includes Washington County and the east side of St. George, Travis Seegmiller was picked to serve out the remainder of Stanard’s term, which runs through the end of this year
