Attorneys In State Senate Recall Effort Make Arguments In Court

An effort to recall two Nevada state senators went to court for the first time Wednesday.

It was the first public battle in what could be a long fight over who ultimately gets to control the State Senate.

The hearing in District Court was the first time that backers of the recall against state senators Joyce Woodhouse and Nicole Cannizzaro appeared in court.

Attorneys for the two senators argued that the signatures submitted in the recall effort should be disqualified.

A Democratic effort led to thousands of signers submitting withdrawal forms.

But attorneys for the recall effort argued that those forms were turned in too late. Democrats are also arguing that these recall tactics could undermine the validity of elections across the U.S.
