The Washoe County School District school board has named its new president.
Trustee Katy Simon Holland replaces former president Angela Taylor as the school board's leader.
Holland will serve a one year term as president and says her primary goals will be student achievement and the construction of new schools.
The Washoe County School District is the second largest school district in Nevada - with some 64,000 students.
