Gaming Executive, UNLV Benefactor Stan Fulton Has Died

Stan Fulton, the Anchor Gaming founder and chairman who donated millions of dollars to the University of Nevada Las Vegas has died.

According to a statement from the Sunland Park Racetrack that he owned in New Mexico, Fulton was 86 years old.

Fulton’s Fortune Coin business developed the first video slot machines in the late 1970s, and later went on to develop the popular Wheel of Gold and Wheel of Fortune games.

Fulton made a $6.7 million gift to UNLV to enable the construction of a building bearing his name on campus.

The Stan Fulton Building on Flamingo Road and Swenson Street opened in October 2000.
