Women Suing City Of Reno Want City Attorney Off The Case

Two women suing the city of Reno for sexual harassment have asked a federal judge to remove a Reno city attorney from the case, saying he has a conflict of interest and that he mishandled an earlier investigation into their original complaints.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that lawyers for the women in the suit claim that since City Attorney Karl Hall was involved in the investigation of their initial complaints, the city should hire someone else to handle the lawsuit.

The complaints against former Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger led to Clinger’s termination in September 2016.

An initial investigation by an independent Reno lawyer hired by Hall found no violations of the city's sexual harassment policy, but was later deemed flawed.
