Clark County DA Urges State To Move Forward With Background Checks

Clark County’s District Attorney is urging state officials to move forward on a background check measure on firearms that was approved by voters last year.

The Nevada Independent reports that Steve Wolfson, along with the Los Angeles District Attorney and the Manhattan District Attorney is calling for immediate action on the matter.

The background check measure has stalled with Attorney General Adam Laxalt, who says the measure is unenforceable.

Last month, Nevadans for Background Checks filed a lawsuit in Clark County requesting a judge order Governor Brian Sandoval to comply with the law.

The letter from the district attorneys was sent to the governor and Laxalt earlier this month, which references the October 1 mass shooting.
