Election officials with Clark County and Nevada are asking a federal court judge to deny or throw out a stay of recall elections targeting two state senators.
The Nevada Independent reportsthat filings were submitted yesterday by Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria and Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske that criticize a Democratic effort that seeks to block special elections for the senators.
Democrats Joyce Woodhouse and Nicole Cannizzaro have been the subject of recall efforts backed by Republicans in the state. Democrats filed a federal lawsuit last month challenging the legality of the recall efforts. Cegavske filed a motion to dismiss the case, calling the claims insupportable.
