Nellis AFB Confirms A Commander Has Been Fired

Officials with Nellis Air Force Base confirmed today that a base commander has been fired.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports a base spokesman said Lt. Col. Jearl C. Allman was fired after his senior officer suffered a “loss of confidence” in his ability to perform his job.

Allman was relieved of duty as commander of the 99 th Security Forces Squadron by Col. Paul Murray, the commander of the 99 th Air Base Wing at Nellis.

The spokesperson did not elaborate on the reasons behind Allman’s firing. Maj. John Hart assumed command of the squadron on Oct. 17.
