Boyd Gaming Introduces New 'Do Not Disturb' Policy In Wake Of Oct.1 Shooting

Boyd Gaming has implemented a policy change that will allow hotel personnel to enter a room if a “Do Not Disturb” sign is left on the door for more than 48 hours.

Such room checks were previously made after 72 hours.

The change comes after Stephen Paddock kept Mandalay Bay housekeeping out of his room for about three days as he unpacked nearly two dozen guns and prepared for the October 1 shooting.

The circumstances surrounding that shooting have prompted other Las Vegas properties to re-evaluate their security procedures.

Boyd Gaming is now informing guests staff will make a ‘safety and welfare’ check after a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign has been in place for two consecutive days.
