Betting numbers are in from the highly publicized August crossover fight between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and mixed-martial arts fighter Conor Mcgregor.
According to figures released today by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the fight was the biggest-bet boxing match in Nevada history.
An estimated $65 million was wagered on Mayweather’s win against McGregor, who closed as a minus-500 favorite at the South Point Sports Book.
Sports books in Nevada don’t report specific handle figures on boxing, but research analysts with the control board estimate that number to be around $65 million.
The state reported an all-time August handle record of $301 million for all sports. The state’s previous handle record for a boxing match was from the Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight in May 2015 which drew about $50 million.
