State Preparing Campaign To Warn Moms-To-Be About Smoking Marijuana

The state of Nevada is preparing a public health campaign aimed to warn expecting mothers on the potentially dangerous effects of using marijuana while pregnant.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports health officials with the state said recent reports suggest more expectant mothers are using marijuana since it became legal earlier this summer.

John DiMuro, Nevada’s chief health officer, did not say what the state’s ad campaign will focus on, considering research about marijuana’s effects on unborn children is inconsistent.

Nonetheless, TV and radio ads are set to begin airing in December.
