Judge Lets Save Red Rock Lawsuit Go Forward

A nonprofit conservation group can move ahead with a lawsuit against Clark County, thanks to a judge who denied a motion to dismiss the lawsuit Thursday.

The Las Vegas Sun reports District Judge Jerry Weise denied the motion to dismiss Save Red Rock’s allegations that the county broke open meeting laws during a February meeting related to the proposed development near Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

The lawsuit also questions the validity of a concept plan approved by the commissioners in 2011.
