County Commission Approves Funding For Red Rock Walk, Bike Trail

The Clark County Commission approved final funding for a 5.5-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail between Summerlin and Red Rock Canyon.

The $14.7 million trail would run from Sky Vista Drive in Summerlin to the Red Rock visitor center.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the non-profit Save Red Rock is receiving $11.7 million in federal grant money to fund the project.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is contributing $2.93 million and Clark County is paying $605,000.

Save Red Rock says construction should start in the winter of 2021, following an environmental assessment, and take about one year to complete.
