Thousands Expected For Holiday Weekend

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is expecting more than 324,000 visitors for the long Labor Day weekend.

Officials with the LVCVA said hotel occupancy will be 96 percent, and McCarran International Airport is expecting to see more than 509,000 passengers.

But many visitors will be on the roads, the Nevada Department of Transportation estimates about 180,000 people will drive to Las Vegas. It will mean busy roadways, specifically Interstate 15 and the resort corridor.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada traffic management center advised drivers that the busiest times will be from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on I-15 southbound at Primm on Monday.
