Controversial lawman and former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio will be giving the keynote address at a conservative gathering later this month.
Arpaio’s name once again made headlines last week when he received a pardon from President Donald Trump, sparing him the potential jail time for ignoring a court order in a racial profiling case.
Arpaio is known for his unconventional methods of law enforcement, such as keeping inmates in tent cities. He gained national attention for his efforts targeting undocumented immigrants.

His pardon was Trump’s first. Arpaio worked for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in 1957, and will return to Las Vegas to speak at the Conservative Leadership Conference.
