Reno Vigil Held To Denounce White Supremacists

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A coalition of civil rights' and other progressive groups held a vigil in Reno to denounce the violence of white supremacists and remember the victims of a deadly clash between protesters at a weekend rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Leaders of the Reno/Sparks NAACP and the Northern Nevada Progressive Coalition organized the Monday night rally downtown in a plaza along the Truckee River.

Patricia Gallimore, president of the local NAACP chapter, says it's important to speak out against the violence, pain and suffering that took place when a car plowed into a crowd of counter-protesters as tensions turned violent at a related white-supremacists' rally in Virginia.
