Stavros Anthony To Run For Nevada Congressional Seat

Las Vegas Councilman Stavros Anthony is planning a run for a Nevada Congressional seat.

The Nevada Independent reportsAnthony plans to file papers today to make himself an official candidate for Democratic Freshman Representative Ruben Kihuen’s seat.

Anthony was re-elected a few months ago, winning in the primary with 74 percent of the vote, and nearly unseated mayor Carolyn Goodman in 2015. Anthony is a retired Metro captain, and as a Republican faces an uphill battle in District 4, where Democrats have nearly a 42,000-voter edge.
