Reno Mayor Joins Bipartisan Group Opposing Senate's Health Care Reform

A bipartisan group of mayors in the country took a stance against the U.S. Senate health care bill.

The group included Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, who met Wednesday to say the current bill before the Senate could serve to make the opioid epidemic worse and prevent treatment for substance abuse issues.

The Nevada Independent reports Schieve spoke with mayors at the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Miami over the weekend about Senator Dean Heller’s stance and what would happen to the city and state if the legislation moved forward.
