Although Marijuana Is Legal, EDC Attendees Reminded To Leave It Home

Although recreational marijuana became legal in Nevada in January, local authorities want to remind Electric Daisy Carnival attendees to leave it at home.

The law still states that recreational use can’t be outside a personal residence.

Last year, authorities made a record 101 felony arrests at the event, with all but eight of those being narcotics related. As many as 1,500 law enforcement officials will be on site at the event, including Metro, Nevada Highway Patrol, and other federal agencies.

EDC is a three-day music festival that starts Friday night.  Traffic on Interstate 15 is expected to be congested in both directions, as far south as Cheyenne Avenue to the speedway and on Las Vegas Boulevard North from Cheyenne starting Friday afternoon and ending Monday morning.

Sink your teeth into our annual collection of dining — and drinking — stories, including a tally of Sin City's Tiki bars, why good bread is having a moment, and how one award-winning chef is serving up Caribbean history lessons through steak. Plus, discover how Las Vegas is a sports town, in more ways than one. Bon appétit!
