Former Domestic Violence Shelter Director Acquitted Of Domestic Battery

A former director at a Southern Nevada domestic violence shelter was acquitted Thursday of charges of domestic battery.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Robert White II was arrested in March and was accused of striking his live-in girlfriend multiple times during a confrontation at their home.

He was the Shade Tree’s director of programs and education and was in charge of implementing new learning opportunities for women and children.

After his arrest, shelter officials put White on leave without pay and reassigned his job. Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Amy Chelini found White not guilty after a responding police officer admitted that White’s girlfriend was the initial aggressor.
