Ex-Illusionist Deposits About $1M For Victims’ Restitution

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former Las Vegas Strip illusionist who is awaiting sentencing on child pornography charges in Nevada has deposited nearly $1 million with a federal court to be used for victim's restitution.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the money was deposited Monday after the $1.24 million sale of a house that Jan Rouven Fuechtener shared with his manager-husband.

The German citizen stopped his federal trial in November and pleaded guilty to possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 30.

Fuechtener agreed to pay $5,000 in restitution per victim. A judge initially ordered the deposit of about $80,000 in sale proceeds, but prosecutors requested that additional money be set aside.

Fuechtener's husband's attorneys in legal filings argue their client is entitled to the sale proceeds.
