Transportation Questions Arise As Stadium Project Moves Ahead

With the signing of the lease agreement and the Raiders scheduled to play in Las Vegas by 2020, questions have started to arise about the status of transportation projects.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that it is unlikely the $200 million investment in Interstate 15 tied to the Russell Road stadium site will be complete in time.

The projects include Interstate-15 and Tropicana Avenue interchange improvements and high-occupancy vehicle lanes along Hacienda and Harmon avenues, which must still be added to the Nevada Department of Transportation’s budget in 2018.

Environmental clearance must also be obtained, which is expected to take up to two years for the interchange and HOV ramps.
