The Nevada Legislature is busy as the May 19 deadline to move bills out of their second house looms.
The Nevada Independent reportsthe top priorities for debate include a constitutional amendment to raise Nevada’s minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2022
Also getting a hearing Wednesday, a bill to allow physician-assisted suicide will get its first hearing.
That bill is co-sponsored by Democratic Sen. David Parks and Republican Sen. Ben Kieckhefer. It was exempted from legislative deadlines. The bill would allow doctors to prescribe a controlled substance to end the life of a terminally ill patient in certain circumstances.
Right now, terminal patients can refuse treatment to keep them alive.
