LVCVA Gets Boost From Room Tax Earnings

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has reported an increase in revenue and tax earnings for the year.

The agency is responsible for the marketing and promotion of Las Vegas as a destination. According to a budget and statistical report presented to the LVCVA’s board of directors today, operating revenue is up 9.4 percent for fiscal year 2017, sitting at $257.4 million, compared to $235.3 million in fiscal year 2016.

That number is also an improvement over a five-year average of revenues of approximately $225 million. The increase was attributed to room tax earnings, which were up 7.4 percent over the previous year.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
