Modern Culture And Islamic Faith Explored In "Disgraced"

UNLV

“Disgraced" by Ayad Akhtar is a play about modern culture and Islamic faith.

It received the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Nevada Conservatory Theatre and The Cockroach Theatre Company have mounted a production which opened this past weekend and runs through April 23.

Veteran TV and movie actor Clarence Gilyard is the co-director, along with Doug Hill. Gilyard teaches acting at UNLV.

Gilyard joins us in the studios of Nevada Public Radio. We listen together to a scene from "Disgraced" performed by Alexandra Ralph (as Emily), Jacob Sidhom (as Abe), and Anil Margsahayam (as Amir).
