Elko County's push to implement enhanced 911 service in the area is facing some obstacles.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the county is trying to figure out how to get proper addresses for more than 1,600 places to tie into the system.
Enhanced 911 is a service that allows dispatchers to better identify a caller's physical location when emergency services are contacted.
Elko County also is working with the federal government to make sure a dispatch at Owyhee is tied into the system, as it is managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The county approved plans to introduce the system last year, and has a five-year plan in place for getting it up and running.
