Gaming figures for the last fiscal year have been released and Nevada's casinos did better in fiscal 2016 than the year before.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports casinos that earned more than $1 million in gaming revenue collectively posted net income a shade below $980 million.
That's all the money casinos made across all operations, including gaming and non-gaming activity.

It's a much more positive result for gaming compared to fiscal 2015, which saw losses of nearly $662 million.
Gaming revenue itself statewide was over $10.7 billion, with much of that coming from Clark County.
Nevada took in more than $821 million in taxes associated with gaming.
