Nevada Senate Debate

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is leaving office after more than three decades serving in Washington, D.C.

The question: Who will replace him?

Former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, was handpicked by Reid to take his seat. She’s running against Rep. Dr. Joe Heck, a Republican who has represented Nevada’s 3rd District since 2011.

A lot is riding on this race for both parties. It could tip the balance in the Senate, which means a lot of outside money has poured into the state trying to influence the race.

KLAS Channel 8, along with Univision, will moderate a debate together between the candidates for Senate. It is the only debate scheduled for this race.
