CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada is agreeing to accept $300,000 to settle a lawsuit with an insurance provider that wouldn't pay a state claim to settle allegations of patient dumping with the city of San Francisco.
The Nevada Board of Examiners approved the settlement Tuesday with the Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania, an American International Group subsidiary.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the company admitted no wrongdoing.
State Attorney General Adam Laxalt sued in July, alleging breach of contract and bad faith for failing to pay Nevada's $400,000 settlement with San Francisco.
San Francisco sued Nevada in 2013 for reimbursement of medical care and shelter for Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital patients who were given bus tickets from Las Vegas to California.
Nevada settled the lawsuit with the city in 2015.
