Bullhead City River Regatta Ceases To Exist

The Bullhead City River Regatta is now a thing of the past.

The Mohave Daily News reports the Bullhead City Council voted 4-3 last night to end the annual event on the Colorado River.

The chair of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe spoke out against the regatta, saying pollution caused by the regatta into the Colorado River has gotten to be too much.

Another tribal leader from Lake Havasu City said his tribe sees remnants of the regatta in their area well downstream.

Both the local police and fire department wanted the event to end, citing resource limitations.
