Historic Carson City Building Target Of Arsons

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Carson City Sheriff's office says arson is suspected in two fires at a historic museum.

Sheriff Ken Furlong says the city's fire department and sheriff's office responded to a fire on Sunday and one Monday morning at the Foreman Roberts House Museum.

The Sunday fire damaged the east side of the building and Monday's fire affected the south side of the building. Both fires resulted in moderate damage.

Furlong says both fires are presumed to be a case of arson and they are under investigation.

The Roberts House was built in 1864 in Washoe City and moved to Carson City a decade later. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.
