SNWA Wants To Turn Over Apex Water To North Las Vegas

Southern Nevada water officials want to restore North Las Vegas as the exclusive water dealer for a burgeoning industrial park home to the Faraday Future and Hyperloop projects.

The Southern Nevada Water Authority on Thursday agreed to complete a $70 million infrastructure project to deliver water to the Apex Industrial Park, and turn maintenance and operations over to the North Las Vegas Utilities Department.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that officials will ask the state Legislature to make the agreement permanent by reversing a measure that named the water authority as the industrial park water provider.

Hyperloop Technologies is developing a test track for a high-speed transit system the 2,000-acre industrial complex about 15 miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas.

Faraday Future plans a $1 billion electric car factory.
