Grand Canyon National Park has a new superintendent.
Christine Lehnertz was named Tuesday to oversee the park that draws more than 5 million visitors annually. She'll arrive next month, replacing Dave Uberuaga, who retired earlier this year.
Uberuaga left rather than being transferred after he was accused of failing to properly address claims of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment at the park in Arizona.
Lehnertz has been overseeing Golden Gate National Recreation Area in California for the past year. She's been with the National Park Service for nine years.
A federal report released in January found that male employees of Grand Canyon National Park harassed female colleagues during trips the agency led on the Colorado River.
Uberuaga wasn't implicated in any of the allegations involving sexual misconduct. He has said he tried to change the culture.
