Officials say a Nevada state court judge in Las Vegas has died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Clark County District Court Judge Susan Scann died Saturday in Las Vegas, according to a statement from the chief judge of the court, David Barker. She was 70.

Barker says Scann will be remembered as a dedicated judge with a positive attitude and high standards.

She was elected to the court in 2010, after a 34-year career practicing civil law and 30 years serving as an alternate Las Vegas Municipal Court judge.

Scann was a founding member of the Pro Bono Committee of the Clark County Bar who worked to get legal representation for those who couldn't afford it.

She's survived by her husband, Bob Scannapieco, a son, daughter and four sisters.
