LAS VEGAS (AP) — A committee that's developing plans for an NFL-grade stadium in Las Vegas is meeting again a few weeks before it's due to send detailed recommendations to the governor.
The Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee meets Monday to discuss plans for a venue that proponents hope will attract the Raiders.
Committee members must decide how much public money they're willing to contribute. Stadium backers with the Las Vegas Sands want $750 million in hotel tax revenue, while the committee chairman proposed $550 million.
They're also expected to discuss a stadium site. Southwest Airlines opposes the original plan of putting it at UNLV across from the airport.
The Las Vegas Sun reports other potential sites include Cashman Field, an MGM-owned festival grounds and the site of the Wild Wild West casino.
