Firefighters who had one wildfire nearly contained were dispersed to quell almost a dozen new fires sparked by a lightning storm in the mountains northwest of Las Vegas.
U.S. Forest Service spokesman Ray Johnson said Wednesday that officials think 10 of 11 new fires started Tuesday evening have been contained and controlled around Lovell Canyon, Kyle Canyon and Angel Peak.
None got to be more than an acre.
Johnson says firefighters are looking for one possible remaining hot spot near Corn Creek.
A Lovell Canyon fire that started Sunday is nearly contained at 445 acres, or almost three-fourths of a square mile.
No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged.
Johnson says the cause of the Lovell Canyon fire is still being investigated. Officials think it might've been human-caused.
