Clark Co. Officials Vote Down Trauma Care Expansion For Now, But Not Completely Dismissing It

Clark County’s board in charge of healthcare-related choices sought to determine Thursday whether the region’s existing trauma system is sufficient for the population.  The result was mixed.

The Las Vegas Sun reports the Southern Nevada Health District's Board of Health voted 7-2 to not open more trauma centers.  At the same time, the board acknowledged the potential benefit of additional research.

The motion opens the door to possibly commissioning a study from an independent party.
