EDC Ends: Stage Fires, Record-Breaking Attendance -- And Felony Drug Arrests

Authorities say a stage fire briefly marred the second night of the Electric Daisy Carnival, which came to a close early Monday in Las Vegas.

Clark County Fire Chief Gregory Cassell says a stagehand received minor burn injuries when a propane-fueled pyrotechnic device malfunctioned on one stage early Sunday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Cassell says firefighters on standby at the event quickly doused flames before they spread beyond speakers.

No other injuries were reported, and the stage show resumed within about an hour.

Police reported 40 felony drug arrests – a record-breaking figure – as well as two misdemeanor arrests and 14 misdemeanor citations during the last night of the event.

Event sponsor Insomniac Productions reported that 131,000 people attended the final night of what's bill as the largest dance music event in North America.
