Nevada Could Receive As Much As $9M To Grow Opioid Abuse Treatment

Nevada might qualify for as much as $9 million over two years to expand opioid addiction treatment resources under President Obama’s $1.1 billion plan to abate the epidemic.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the proposal would let states claim money on the basis of how bad their opioid addiction problems are and how strong their treatment and prevention efforts are.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ranked Nevada 14th for drug poisoning deaths in 2014.

The proposal was announced Tuesday.
