Early Voting In Nye County Slow Going

We've heard in recent days that early voting in Clark County is reaching all time highs.

But in neighboring Nye County?

Not so much.

The Pahrump Valley Times reports with early voting ending Friday, turnout hasn't been great.

As of yesterday, just under 2,300 ballots had been cast in early voting in Nye County.

Compare that to early voting in the 2014 primary, where, by the same time, nearly 3,500 ballots had been cast.

On the ballot are a variety of county commission races, but largely they're being contested by Republican primary voters as Democrats are either running unopposed, or not at all.

That may be one reason why turnout is down.
