Nobody Hurt After Plane Collides With Van At McCarran

Authorities say no one was injured and commercial flights weren't affected when a private jet being moved for maintenance collided with a parked van in a work area at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Assistant Clark County Fire Chief Larry Haydu says firefighters responded at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday to the Signature Aviation ramp on the western part of the airfield near Las Vegas Boulevard.

Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews says the Cessna Citation C560 and a van were damaged, but no fuel spilled and there was no fire. Crews compared the incident to a parking lot collision.

She says two maintenance workers were taxiing the twin-engine jet, and the van was unoccupied.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says the agency doesn't investigate collisions that don't involve flight operations.
