CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A company that runs seven Las Vegas-area sports books is facing a $100,000 fine over allegations that it underpaid about $700,000 on more than 20,000 winning bets.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that the Nevada Gaming Control Board filed a complaint against CG Technology Monday that also says about $100,000 was overpaid on more than 11,000 parlay wagers. The incorrect payments allegedly occurred from August 2011 until the company addressed the problem in March 2015.
A state investigation found that CG Technology only gave winners who complained about being underpaid their full earnings, and not those who didn't speak up.
The complaint says the incorrect payments were caused by a software issue the company had known about.
CG Technology has 30 days to respond to the complaint.
