Elko HOA To Debate Becoming An Unincorporated Town

A homeowners' association in Elko County is debating whether or not to become an unincorporated town.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports the Spring Creek HOA is weighing changing its composition because leadership feels as though they've done all they can as an HOA.

Another option could be for the association to become a general improvement district.

That's a type of local governance that allows areas to have some kinds of local services without having to fully incorporate as a town or city.

The association will hold a public meeting on May 24 at Spring Creek Elementary to discuss the proposals at length.
