State officials say an inmate has died at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
The Nevada Department of Corrections said 86-year-old James Henry Burks died Sunday afternoon at the Regional Medical Facility in the prison.
No reason was given for his death.
An autopsy is scheduled.
Burks was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing Debra Ann Boykin, 42, to death in Las Vegas in March 1999.
