Nevada Animal Control Supervisor Indicted On Animal Cruelty

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say the former Boulder City animal control supervisor has been indicted on cruelty charges.

The Clark County District Attorney said a grand jury on Thursday indicted Mary Jo Frazier on two felony counts of animal cruelty.

The charges involve the cases of two dogs. Prosecutors said Oscar the Dachshund was unjustifiably euthanized and Lotus the Pitbull wasn't provided adequate food, medical care or pain management.

This comes nearly a year after the city's investigation suggested more than 100 animals were improperly euthanized by Frazier.

The city said it forced her to retire but didn't seek charges because she was licensed to kill without oversight.
