Cox Communications is rolling out a cable rate hike for the Las Vegas area two weeks after a bitter fee dispute with KLAS.
The company said its prices went up nationwide an average of 5 percent starting in February.
Las Vegas rates for cable television went up between 4 and 8 percent but a Cox spokeswoman said that it was planned and based on increasing programming costs.

Cox said the Vegas fee hike is not directly related with the recent KLAS blackout, despite the cable company saying at the time of their high-profile dispute that KLAS' demand for more money would drive up cable costs.
The five-day standoff between the CBS affiliate and cable company ended Feb. 4, just days before the Super Bowl game broadcast.
