State officials say a 72-year-old inmate died over the weekend at a northern Nevada hospital.
Officials with the Nevada Department of Corrections say Eugene A. Mauwee died about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pershing General Hospital in Lovelock.
Mauwee was serving two life sentences after being convicted in 1990 of murder and using a deadly weapon.

He was convicted in Washoe County and was being housed at the Lovelock Correctional Center.
An autopsy is being scheduled.
