Culinary Union Not Endorsing A Pre-Caucus Candidate; Focusing On General Election

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The powerful union representing about 57,000 Las Vegas casino workers has shifted its strategy by not endorsing a candidate in the Democratic primary and focusing on the general election instead.

The Culinary Union announced in January that it wouldn't use its influence on behalf of any one candidate before Nevada's late-February caucuses.

The group backed Barack Obama in his heated race with Hillary Clinton in 2008.
