A Nevada state board has recommended Nye County may need to receive additional oversight from the state to deal with its finances.
The Pahrump Valley Times reports the Committee on Local Government Finance said Nye County was breaking rules and regulations governing the spending of money.
These include using restricted funds in improper ways, and overspending money from some accounts.

The state's department of taxation will have to decide whether or not to put Nye County on a watch list, thereby allowing it to seek state assistance to sort out its problems.
